Responsible for assisting the Civil Superintendent on a variety of sites to calculate volumes for pre-load, check existing grades, calculate cuts and fills and maintain material inventory.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collect and record information using Beedie supplied GPS survey tool
  • Confirm elevations, volumes and locations of various onsite services
  • Layout of fill areas, preload corners, building locations
  • Calculate angles to plot slope and other features
  • Prepare drawings, maps, plans, records, and documents
  • Organize records, measurements, and other survey information
  • Clear brush and debris from line of survey
  • Explore the landscape and record/document geographical information
  • Mark land boundaries with geographical tools and measuring devices
  • Prepare documents, drawings, and geographical maps
  • Create a table/graph/drawing showing cut/fill/balance options for sites as requested
  • Other duties as required

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar qualification
  • EIT preferred
  • A minimum 1-3 years of related work experience
  • Experience with GPS survey equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Punctual, reliable and dependable and show initiative
  • Can lift up to 25lbs
  • A valid B.C. driver’s license and car is required
