Project Development Coordinator

This role will provide assistance to the Project Development Manager, as well as to other members of the industrial development team, in the preparation of project performance specifications, responses to formal RFP’s, construction contracts and lease agreements. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of project performance specifications for all build-to-suit projects and assist others with the preparation of strata, lease and tenant improvement specifications as and when required
  • Attend meetings with clients to establish baseline building design and specifications and track changes throughout the pre-contract stages to facilitate accurate budgeting and capturing of scope
  • Assist in the preparation of preliminary project schedules and liaise with pre-construction, construction and development teams for review of project schedules prior to finalization
  • Review project estimates against project specifications and drawings to ensure consistency and to identify discrepancies
  • Assist in the preparation of build-to-suit proposals
  • Assist in the value engineering exercise with clients, prior to contract execution
  • Assist in the preparation of construction contracts and lease agreements, including applicable schedules
  • Assist construction project management staff with scope and process questions during turnover and throughout construction as required
  • Attend internal and external design review meetings, take minutes and follow up on actions with relevant parties as required
  • Record accurate meeting minutes and circulate to attendees in a timely manner

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in industrial, institutional, commercial or tenant improvement projects
  • A technical Diploma or University Degree in either Construction Management or Architectural and Building Technology. A related field of study or equivalent work experience will be considered
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of varying construction techniques and methodologies
  • Proficiency with scheduling software (MS Project)
  • Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Applies genuine interest and passion for construction and real estate development
  • Recognized analytical and research skills
  • The ability to handle a heavy workload, multitask and prioritize
  • A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills
  • The ability to work well within a team environment
  • The ability to travel throughout the lower mainland with access to your own vehicle
