Role overview:

Reporting to VP HR, and working as part of the HR team, a successful Senior Recruiter will ensure our company attracts, hires and retains the best employees, while growing a strong talent pipeline.

Successful candidate will be able to attract candidates using various sources, like social media networks and employee referrals as well as be skilled at direct sourcing as many positions in our industry are very competitive and only direct sourcing will result in a successful hire.

Responsibilities:

  • Fine tune and adjust existing recruiting strategy. Identify methods to fill portion of the positions directly versus with agencies help
  • Manage agencies to be able to represent Beedie brand to the candidates
  • Collaborate with department managers and proactively identify future hiring needs to fill positions
  • Develop and update job descriptions and job specifications
  • Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate boards, etc
  • Source and recruit candidates by using databases, social media and direct sourcing
  • Screen candidate’s resumes and job applications
  • Conduct interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods to filter candidates within schedule
  • Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes across various job functions
  • Onboard new employees in order to become fully integrated
  • Monitor and apply HR recruiting best practices
  • Provide analytical and well documented recruiting reports to the rest of the team
  • Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
  • Promote company’s reputation as “best place to work”
  • Promote Beedie employment brand to attract best candidates at industry functions and events

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a Senior Recruiter (either an in-house recruiter or a staffing agency recruiter)
  • Solid understanding of the HR best practices
  • Solid ability to conduct different types of interviews (structured, competency-based, stress, etc,)
  • Hands on experience with various selection processes (phone interviewing, reference check, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills allowing to identify needed roles, formulate a resource plan and assess suitable candidates
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or sufficient experience on the job
